Former Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Milroe is in some pretty serious trouble.
Remember after Jalen Milroe's third season with the Alabama Crimson Tide when many felt he could be a top-five pick in the following year's NFL Draft?
Things have certainly changed since then, haven't they?
After a really rough final season at Alabama, Milroe fell to the third round of the 2025 draft, where he was selected by the Seattle Seahawks.
Remember: at the time, the NFL world was still somewhat unsure about Sam Darnold, whom the Seahawks signed in free agency that March. But after Darnold led Seattle to a Super Bowl, we don't have those questions anymore.
Now, Milroe has no chance of starting for the Seahawks anytime soon, and word on the street is he might not even make Seattle's roster.
Drew Lock appears to be the top backup quarterback for the Seahawks, especially given Milroe's dreadful preseason. So Milroe's safety will come down to whether or not Seattle decides to keep three signal-callers on its 53-man roster.

Now, he has essentially been relegated to practice squad fodder, and while I don't think the Seahawks will cut him, a trade is certainly possible.
Milroe absolutely has the tools to be a successful quarterback on the professional level. He has a cannon for an arm, he is incredibly athletic and he has decent size at 6-foot-2, 216 pounds. Milroe's accuracy is a question mark, though, as is his processing speed.
It's blatantly obvious that the 23-year-old is not entirely comfortable in the NFL just yet, and while he hasn't really gotten much of a chance to show improvement, Seattle might not have that much patience.
The Seahawks are in win-now mode, so every roster spot is valuable. They might decide that keeping a third active quarterback would be a waste of a slot, which is why Milroe is absolutely on the bubble with cutdown day approaching.
This isn't to say Milroe's entire NFL future is doomed. He could still latch on elsewhere and find success — or at least get an opportunity. But it's looking more and more like the Alabama product's first professional stop might end with a whimper.
