Robert Griffin III sparked social media buzz after sharing a bizarre, unfiltered anecdote about the signal-caller’s private family traditions.
In one of the most bizarre moments in a FOX College Football game, Robert Griffin III might've said a bit too much. Now fans are asking if BYU Cougars QB Bear Bachmeier and his family eat dinner while nobody is wearing clothes.
Late in the Arizona-BYU game on FOX, the broadcast showed April Bachmeier, the mom of Bear and Tiger, sitting in the stands, which prompted quite an exchange between play-by-play announcer, Connor Onion, and RGIII. The two probably should've talked amongst themselves.
“[Bear] he told us that at the dinners, you know, sometimes they just take the clothes off, and they walk around naked," Griffin said. He then asked Onion, "You naked at your dinners with the family?" Of course, Onion wanted no part of that, saying, “Do I have to answer that?”

This almost felt like RGIII lost a bet or was trying to add fluff late in the game. But we're left to wonder why he said it on national television. Maybe it’s not so far-fetched as some would believe. Was this something the world may never know?
As for Bachmeier's play on the field, the sophomore has started his encore season off on the right foot. He has gone 44-of-62 (71%) in the first three games for 706 total yards with eight touchdowns. It's hard to believe he's on pace to shatter his freshman totals this year. After spending time in the offseason working on his craft at the Manning Passing Academy, Bachmeier seems to be processing the game at a higher level this season.
BYU is off to a 3-0 start for the fourth straight year under head coach Kalani Sitake. Overall, it's the 20th time in school history. One of the biggest reasons why BYU has been able to coast this season is due to the outstanding play of Bachmeier. The Cougars are "Exactly where they want to be," according to Sitake. While Big 12 play will be much different than at the start of the season, BYU is ready to face better competition.
We'll find out the strength of this Cougars team in the coming weeks. After the bye week, BYU will travel to Fort Worth for a meeting with the TCU Horned Frogs on Oct. 3. They'll face back-to-back home games against Iowa State and No. 3 Notre Dame, which is already shaping up to be one of the best non-conference college football games this season.
If Bachmeier continues to grow in the BYU offense, there's no limit to how good they could be down the stretch. The Cougars hope to make a first-ever trip to the College Football Playoff and be the team nobody wants to face this year.
