Clemson Tigers star Avieon Terrell is one of the top cornerbacks in the upcoming NFL Draft.
In NFL analyst Daniel Jeremiah's top 50 draft prospect rankings, Terrell was listed as the 30th-ranked player in the draft class.
Terrell could be an immediate starter at the NFL level, especially as a nickel cornerback.
He had back-to-back quality seasons, establishing himself as a premier corner. In the 2024 season, Terrell finished with 58 total tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, a sack, two interceptions, 12 pass deflections, three forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries.
Terrell followed it up with another solid season in 2025, as he had 48 total tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, nine pass deflections, five forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery.
He has thrived as a slot and nickel corner and could start for a team right away in that role. If a team wants to move him to the outside, it could take some time for him to develop.
Terrell was an effective blitzer, making him a potential fit for a team like the Minnesota Vikings, who have Brian Flores as their defensive coordinator. Flores is known for his aggressive blitz packages, which often include defensive backs blitzing.
Kirby Lee-Imagn ImagesWhile Terrell will look to make his mark in the NFL, the Tigers will be facing an uphill climb to have a bounce-back year in 2026.
Clemson went just 7-6 in the 2025 season, missing out on the ACC Title Game and the College Football Playoff despite entering the season as one of the favorites to win the National Championship.
That led to some changes by head coach Dabo Swinney this offseason, hiring Chad Morris as the new offensive coordinator and Rich Bisaccia as the special teams coordinator.
Swinney hopes that the changes to the coaching staff will help the turnaround. Still, he will also have to get more out of the roster, with talented players like Terell, Peter Woods, TJ Parker, Blake Miller, Antonio Williams, and Cade Klubnik heading to the NFL.
Terrell was highly productive during his tenure at Clemson and has the talent to be an impact player on day one in the NFL.
