With the 2025 college football season in the books, it’s time to look at some of the potential Clemson Tigers who are set to enter the 2026 NFL Draft in April.
Defensive end T.J. Parker and wide receiver Antonio Williams are two of the big stars who will hear their names called on draft night, but the program’s highly-touted defensive tackle, Peter Woods, continues to be the main headline.
In his most recent 2026 NFL Draft Board, analyst Daniel Jeremiah had Woods at the No. 34-ranked player in the upcoming draft class due to his inconsistency from game to game.
“Woods is a thick, square DT prospect with fabulous quickness and violent hands,” Jeremiah wrote. “As a run defender, he can hold the point of attack when blockers are lined up over his nose...Overall, Woods isn’t a steady/consistent player game in and game out, but his flashes are very intriguing.”
Dale Zanine-Imagn ImagesPrior to becoming one of the most talented defensive tackles at the college level, Woods was once a four-star prospect in the 2023 recruiting cycle. After receiving offers from multiple Power Four programs, the Alabama native would eventually commit to the Tigers over the likes of Alabama, Auburn, and Arizona State.
His decision to continue his college career would turn out to be an excellent choice, as Woods quickly became a force on the defensive line. During his sophomore season with the Tigers, Woods made a name for himself, recording 28 tackles, eight tackles for losses, three sacks, and one forced fumble.
The incredible stretch caught the attention of many NFL Draft analysts, and Woods was considered to be one of the best defensive players in the upcoming draft heading into the 2025 season.
However, similar to Clemson’s decline in production this past season, Woods was unable to repeat his success. Still, the terrific interior threat managed to post solid numbers in his junior season, notching 30 tackles, three tackles for losses, and two sacks in his 12 games played with the program.
Depending on how well Woods performs at the 2026 NFL Combine, there is a chance that he could regain some of the stock he lost throughout the 2025 season.
