The Clemson Tigers' wide receiver room has been a major disappointment in 2026.

The Clemson Tigers' passing game has been awful this season. Clemson ranks last in the ACC in passing yards per game and 111th in the country. It also ranks dead last in the nation in passing touchdowns.

While the Tigers' quarterback situation has played a significant role in the struggles, with Tait Reynolds having thrown just one touchdown in six games and four starts, Clemson's wide receivers have also been incredibly disappointing.

T.J. Moore and Bryant Wesco entered the campaign as potential first-round draft picks. In fact, I felt Moore in particular was being criminally underrated.

But there is no excusing the performance of both receivers, regardless of Reynolds.

Moore and Wesco each dropped would-be touchdown passes during the Tigers' win over Charleston Southern on Saturday. Moore has snared just 27 balls for 244 yards and a score this season. Wesco has 29 catches for 340 yards and no touchdowns.

They've been subpar no matter how you spin it, and a legitimate argument can be made that Clemson's wide receiver room has been one of the nation's biggest disappointments.

Both Moore and Wesco are immensely talented with great size and, or so we thought, great hands. And in a deep wide receiver draft class, both had been largely overlooked heading into the fall.

But at this juncture, Moore and Wesco are no longer underrated. In fact, they are both actively hurting their draft stock.

We can blame Reynolds as much as we want. Yes, he hasn't been good. That much is obvious. Neither has the offensive line.

At some point, though, we need to point some blame toward the wide outs, too.

Clemson has six games remaining in the regular season, and its schedule is very manageable with not a single ranked team on the slate. So you would think the passing game would have an opportunity to break out at some point.

But if the Tigers couldn't do that against Charleston Southern, an Ohio Valley Conference team that is now 3-4, what should make us believe they can do it against Virginia Tech?

Clemson may have won by a score of 37-0 on Saturday, but it wasn't a great victory considering what we needed to see from the Tigers.

Remember: last year, the aerial attack labored with Cade Klubnik under center, and he had both Moore, Wesco (for part of the season) and Antonio Williams at his disposal.

This season, things seem even worse, and the issues have spread to two of the players we all thought Clemson could count on.
