The Duke Blue Devils improved to 6-2 with an impressive 47-2 win over Boston College in front of 15,653 fans at Wallace Wade Stadium in Durham, North Carolina, on Saturday.

The only two points surrendered to Boston College came via a defensive return on a Duke point-after attempt in the first quarter.

Total domination.

On the offensive side of the ball, it was Duke running back Nate Sheppard that broke the Eagles. He rushed 20 times for 97 yards and five touchdowns.

Per ESPN Insights, the five touchdown runs by Sheppard are now a single-game record for the Blue Devils. Sheppard now has 18 total touchdowns on the season, which is a single-season record for Duke.

Sheppard broke the single-season record with four regular-season games remaining on Duke's schedule. It's expected for that number to continue to rise through the next four games.

There's no doubt Sheppard has been the MVP of the offense this season.

Quarterback Walker Eget had a nice afternoon against Boston College, going 11 of 18 passing for 201 yards and one touchdown.

With the win on Saturday, the Blue Devils are now bowl eligible before getting set to face NC State in Week 10.

Duke has a big November ahead of them.

The Blue Devils exceeded expectations in the first two months. Before the season, it was unclear if head coach Manny Diaz had enough talent to make a bowl game after losing quarterback Darian Mensah and wide receiver Cooper Barkate to the Miami Hurricanes in the transfer portal.

Sheppard has been a key reason why the offense has been powerful enough to win games. The defense has been exceptional and pitched a shutout today (the only points given up to BC were as the result of the offense).

The schedule is set to become a little more challenging for the Blue Devils in the final month. After playing rival NC State, Duke will travel to play No. 1 Miami on Nov. 14. The Blue Devils will have revenge on their mind when they play a Hurricanes team that might have an emotional letdown game after playing Notre Dame the week before.

Duke will then host Clemson on a short week after the Miami game on Nov. 20. The Blue Devils will finish their season against No. 14 Wake Forest on Nov. 28. Duke can't be counted out for any of those games.
