Duke's 2026 recruiting class is loaded and three players have made the top 26 in ESPN's final rankings.
Duke head coach Jon Scheyer has put together some impressive recruiting classes in his four seasons as head coach. The 2026 class is no different.
The Blue Devils are reloading again here in 2026, putting together another big recruiting class which will play a key part of the future for the program. As it stands right now, Duke has five players committed to the program in the 2026 class.
It's a class that is ranked No. 1 overall on 247Sports and rightfully so. Now, the class is earning some praise from ESPN as well.
In ESPN's final rankings for the 2026 class, Duke has three of the top 26 players overall.
Five-star recruits Cameron Williams (No. 4 overall), Deron Rippey Jr. (No. 15) and Bryson Howard (No. 26) lead the way. Maxime Meyer is listed as a four-star center by the publication but did not make the top 100.
International recruit, Joaquin Boumtje Boumtje gets five-star status as well but was listed separately as an international rank.
Overall, Duke's class is ranked No. 2 nationally behind only Arkansas.
More pressure for Duke, Jon Scheyer?
With the Blue Devils returning some top talent from an Elite Eight team last season and now a really good recruiting class, expectations are sky high once again. The only question that remains is if they can get over the hump this season.
After a disappointing loss to UConn in the Elite Eight, leading by 17 in the second half, Scheyer will continue to be questioned in terms of winning the big game.
He's led Duke to the Elite Eight three times and has a Final Four appearance under his belt. However, Duke has lost multiple games in which they have had a lead late, including all three of their losses in the 2025-26 season.
The pressure will be there for Scheyer and the Blue Devils to succeed, especially with another big recruiting class coming in.
