The Florida Gators have officially announced the game time of the program's highly anticipated matchup against the Florida State Seminoles for the 2026 college football season.
As we slowly approach the 2026 college football season, Florida Gators’ fans are excited for what’s to come under newly-hired head coach Jon Sumrall.
After a brutal 3-4 start to the 2025 season, the Gators ultimately decided to move on from former head coach Billy Napier, which concluded his four-and-a-half year stint with the program. This led to the signing of Sumrall, who is looking to revamp Florida’s football program by landing a total of 29 transfer portal additions this offseason.
However, Sumrall’s quest to revise the Gators will be a tough challenge in 2026, as the Gators are set to face a slew of SEC opponents, such as the Texas Longhorns, Georgia Bulldogs, and the Oklahoma Sooners. To make matters worse, Florida will also host the Florida State Seminoles in the final week of the regular season, which will be a highly anticipated event for the fanbase.
On Tuesday, the Florida athletic department officially announced the game time of the in-state battle, as the game will take place on Nov 27 at 3:30 PM EST and will be televised on ABC.

Mandatory Credit: Matt Pendleton-Imagn ImagesThis year’s matchup marks the 69th contest between two of the best teams in the state of Florida, with the Gators holding a commanding 39-28-2 record over the Seminoles. The contest will also be the first time it takes place on Friday since Florida’s heartbreaking 45-38 loss to its in-state foes in 2022.
Luckily for Sumrall and his new coaching staff, the Gators have won the last two games against Florida State. Last year, Florida was able to take care of business at home, cruising by the ACC member, 40-21. Running back Jadan Baugh had a historical performance, as he finished the game with 266 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 38 carries.
To no surprise, Baugh and former Florida running back Montrell Johnson Jr. led the charge in the Gators’ 2024 contest against Florida State, tallying a combined 180 rushing yards and one touchdown in the 31-11 victory.
Now, Florida will travel to Tallahassee during the 2026 season to take on Florida State in hopes of carrying the program’s recent success against the Seminoles.
