DJ Lagway's injury scare is over almost as quickly as it began. The Florida Gators quarterback is fully healthy, head coach Billy Napier announced today.

Napier confirmed reports that Lagway had been spotted wearing a protective boot, but said it was a purely precautionary measure. Lagway has been a full participant in practice during UF's Off Week. A video posted to the team's social media pages showed Lagway dropping back and throwing a ball while not wearing a boot.

Napier said the boot was a precaution after Lagway got stepped on in UF's loss to Miami on Saturday.

"DJ is fine," Napier said. "There is no issue at all ... He's 100 percent."

Although Lagway has struggled in the early weeks of the season, the news still comes as a huge relief for UF fans. Losing their star quarterback would've added even more anguish after UF's disappointing 1-3 start.

Lagway had an unrelated injury that kept him out of practice for almost the entirety of the offseason. The Off Week for Florida comes at an opportune time for his health and offers the Gators a chance to reset.

During his weekly teleconference, Napier also addressed speculation that Lagway might choose to redshirt this year, which he is currently eligible to do after playing four games.

"It's comical," Napier said. "That's a total myth."

It wasn't all good news, however. Napier also confirmed earlier reports that cornerback Dijon Johnson is out for the season after an injury sustained against the Hurricanes. It is yet another blow to a Gators defense that has now lost four starters to injury.

Florida's next game is on Saturday, Oct. 4, against No. 10 Texas. That game will be played in Gainesville.
