The Florida Gators will be coming into their game with the Auburn Tigers as underdogs.

The Florida Gators were able to come away with another impressive win in Week 2 of the new season, taking down Campbell 52-3.

With the win, the Gators moved to 2-0 for the first time since 2021, kicking off the Jon Sumrall era in high gear. The Florida offense looked very good against Campbell, and now the team will be preparing for a tough road game.

Florida will be traveling to face the Auburn Tigers in their first SEC contest of the season, offering the Gators a strong test. Auburn, also 2-0, took down Baylor and Southern Mississippi in their first two games, setting up a fun matchup in Week 3.

But heading into the game, ESPN has given the edge to the Tigers, just barely. ESPN has given Florida a 49.8 percent chance to win the game on the road against Auburn.

It seems that this contest looked pretty even heading into the game, with the Gators trying to make a statement. If Florida were able to come away with the victory, it could signal that a special year was ahead.

But playing on the road in any environment can be tough, and Sumrall will have his guys prepared for everything. Florida quarterback Aaron Philo is going to have to play his best football against the Tigers, building on his strong start to the season.

So far, through two games, Philo has thrown for 517 yards with five touchdowns and one interception. If he can limit the turnovers in this game, the Gators will have a good chance to come away with the win.

Philo was brought to Florida for these types of games, and the team will be counting on him to step up. If he can, the Gators will feel more confident as the year goes along.

The Gators' defense will also need to slow down Auburn quarterback Byrum Brown, who can be explosive on the field. Brown has had an underwhelming start to the new year, and the Gators will be attempting to keep it that way.

All in all, this game is going to show what type of team Florida is, offering them a chance to grab a huge conference win. The Gators want to be viewed as a potential College Football Playoff team down the line, and making sure to take care of business early in the year against a similar opponent could go a long way.

Kickoff for the game between the Gators and Tigers will take place at 4:00 p.m. PT/7:00 p.m. ET from Jordan-Hare Stadium.
