The defending national champions will host their first home game of the season as they get ready for FAU in their home opener which is scheduled to be a white out game. FSU is 4-0 all time against FAU.

No. 3 Florida State women's soccer team will make its home debut against FAU on Thursday, August 20 at the Seminole Soccer Complex.

Florida State is the defending national champion and is currently 2-0-0 after a successful road trip to start the season where they defeated Stetson and FIU with second-half surges in both games.

Florida State only returned four of eleven starters in 2026, and head coach Brian Pensky was forced to hit the transfer portal to fill his 2026 roster. In addition to bringing in the No.1 recruiting class for the third consecutive year, Pensky brought in 11 quality players from the transfer portal for the 2026 season.

So far, the portal additions have paid dividends as nearly half of the goals and assists this year have all come from first-year Florida State players. Florida State started the season ranked No. 4, and had already been bumped up to No.3 after the new players showed their value in the first two games.

When Florida State hosts FAU in the home opener it will be a white-out game where all attending fans are encouraged to come to the stadium wearing white Florida State gear.

FAU is 0-1-1 after playing FIU to a tie and losing to Miami 3-0 in their most recent game. FAU is led by returning All-Conference players Hailey Santiago and Isabel Bostic. FAU also brought in key players from the transfer portal such as Alex Bayouth from Stephen F Austin and Georgia Cousins from South Alabama.

With shutouts in each of their first two games this season, this season has started well for Pensky. Since his arrival in 2022, Florida State has the highest winning percentage in the nation at .857. In that same time span, Pensky has led Florida State to two national titles, and the second most wins in the nation with 72 wins.

Pensky is not just winning at the collegiate level, but he's developing his top talent into pros. After winning the national title in 2025 Pensky saw ten of his players sign professional contracts, eight with the NWSL, and two overseas.

FAU is going to be playing a Florida State team that is on a four-game shutout streak, and a team that has won 35 nonconference games in a row. So far in 2026 it appears that Pensky has reloaded as there does not appear to be any drop-off from last season's dominance. Florida State is 4-0 all-time against FAU, including a 5-0 win at FAU last season.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7pm.
