Boasting a 92 overall rating, Florida State’s standout pass-catcher joins the nation’s virtual elite as Mike Norvell fights to salvage the Seminoles' reputation on the real-world gridiron.
The much-anticipated release of EA Sports College Football ’27 is coming up fast, the virtual equivalent of the greatest show on turf. With ratings and rankings of all the college teams and players, along with enhanced features and immersive storytelling, this year’s version looks to be the best yet.
In the player rankings by position, Florida State wide receiver Duce Robinson comes in at No. 4 (rated at 92) in a position group led by Jeremiah Smith (99), Malachi Toney (96) and Cam Coleman (92). Elite company, indeed.
Robinson is the leading returning receiver for the Seminoles in 2026 after posting a 1,000-yard season on 56 catches and six touchdowns. An elite pass-catcher, Robinson is not only one of the top receivers in the virtual world; he is one of the best in the real world of college football. Robinson is a preseason All-American and All-ACC performer headed into what is a critical season for Florida State.
The Seminoles have fumbled their way to a 7-17 record over the past two seasons under head coach Mike Norvell, and a winning season is warranted. The projected win total for the Seminoles sits at 6.5.
The Seminoles are going to have do a lot better than that for the 2026 season to be a success in the eyes of their fans and the athletic administration. Norvell’s coaching seat has already spontaneously combusted and is engulfed in flames, to the point his game day coaching attire is made of flame-retardant material.
In the EA Sports team rankings, Florida State is rated at 82 overall, just behind ACC foes Virginia and SMU. In-state rival Miami is the highest-rated ACC team at 88, and No. 7 in their Top 25. Every team is looking up toward the summit of college football, occupied by the Oregon Ducks, who are rated across the board at 91.
Florida State must navigate a tough September schedule that includes matchups with SMU and Alabama, and then games against Miami and Clemson, and finishes with the Florida Gators.
If the Seminoles can put a winning product on the field and energize their fan base like the anticipation of EA Sports College Football ’27 energizes the gamer community, then the 2026 season will be a success for Florida State. If not, then the video game is just that, a virtual game. The Seminoles need to just win, baby, win, and be the personification of the greatest show on turf.
