The Seminoles are aiming to swoop up Jabarrius Garror following his decommitment from Alabama.
Florida State rose as a school to watch the moment four-star edge rusher Jabarrius Garror reopened his recruiting process.
Now the Seminoles are ramping up talks with the former Alabama verbal commitment.
Mike Roach of 247Sports revealed that Garror and the Noles are indeed speaking regularly. Yet there are other major programs in the hunt for him too.
"Top247 Mobile (AL) Vigor EDGE Jabarrius Garror mentioned Florida State, Texas, Texas A&M, and Ole Miss as the schools he's hearing from most," Roach said, in that order.
That likely means its the Seminoles he's hearing the most from. That also means a Tallahassee trip is coming as well.
"Garror is slated to visit Florida State and Miami this spring," Roach mentioned.
This upcoming visit will be huge for multiple coaches on the FSU staff and not just limited to coach Mike Norvell. New edge rusher coach Nick Williams gets his chance to court that electric quick pass rusher. Defensive coordinator Tony White can also aim to coax Garror into coming over to Florida State.
But there are other visits Garror will partake in along with his trip to FSU.
"The former Alabama commit has official visits scheduled for Texas, Texas A&M, Alabama and Auburn, and he's likely going to make a late decision that could possibly move into December," Roach said.
Those last words paint the picture that Garror will not shut down his recruitment early. He's open to talking to as many schools as he can before finally making a decision on his collegiate future.
Does Florida State hold the edge right now to land the edge rusher? Or is there another school ramping up its own efforts to swoop up the 6-foot-3 talent?
"Garror didn't mention any school as having an edge and said he's still open," Roach said.
Regardless, Florida State sounds like its now in a stronger position to potentially win over Garror.
If Williams, White and the FSU staff manage to pull it off, Garror would rise as the highest-ranked recruit for Florida State's 2027 recruiting class. Plus it'll also mean winning over a talent who was originally set to land with a SEC school and College Football Playoff team of 2025. But now FSU is building new momentum to grab Garror. ㅤ
