The Seminoles are pursuing one of the nation's most coveted Midwest defenders. The cornerback shares why FSU made his final cut.

Florida State football is juggling spring football practice with winning over recruits.

The Seminoles already hosted three Atlantic Coast Conference targets. But now they're working away at winning over a prized four-star cornerback armed with 40 offers and 6-foot-3 height.

Tavares Harrington revealed his top 10 list with Tom Loy of 247Sports Wednesday morning. He'll win over FSU fans for placing the Noles on his short list of options.

By unveiling his top 10, this indicates which schools the Chicago native and star from Mount Carmel High is focusing on moving forward. But he revealed the "huge" reason why he's closely looking at FSU.

"Coach [Blue] Adams making the move from Michigan State to Florida State was huge for me. He was recruiting me heavily and has continued to do that. That's my guy," Harrington said to Loy.

That means the new defensive backs coach has stayed in touch with the talented defender even in his transition to Tallahassee. It shows the strong relationship building Adams is able to possess in joining Mike Norvell's coaching staff.

Adams has become quite popular among recruits. He helped land four-star Mekhi Williams at safety alongside assistant Evan Cooper. But for FSU to win over Harrington, the Seminoles have a deep list of teams they must beat.

Alabama is one Harrington speaks highly of.

"Alabama has made my Top 10 due to the relationships I have built with the coaching staff, from the defensive staff," Harrington said. "They were one of my first big offers. I have visited multiple times, and I also got to camp and work out with the coaches, and those are guys I want to surround myself with."

The Crimson Tide aren't the only one Harrington is high on.

"Georgia is a powerhouse school that has continued to produce big-time players to the pros, and has been heavily recruiting me since they offered me. Coach Kirby Smart is a defensive backs coach, and Georgia is a defensive school that always makes a good run in the playoffs and has great seasons. Coach Donte Williams has done a great job building a relationship with me. We had a home visit, and it went great," Harrington adds.

There's also a "late" school making a big push for Harrington -- one that made the College Football Playoffs: Oklahoma.

"They are a late school that jumped in due to Coach [LaMar] Morgan making the move there from Michigan. Coach and I have connected for a long time and have a great bond. I can trust him as a coach and will be developed," Harrington said.

There's no official timetable when Harrington will make his decision.
