Florida State football spring ball will be in full swing during the week of March 9. It won't be the 2026 roster taking the field, though.
Recruits with lanyards will be watching the action. That includes some Atlantic Coast Conference targets.
Head coach Mike Norvell and his coaching staff will earn the chance to win over three fast risers on the recruiting trail in quarterback Andrew Whittemore, running back Connail Jackson and wide receiver Keyon Standifer. The QB is already blowing up on the recruiting trail with seven offers including two from ACC rivals of the Seminoles.
Noles247's Chris Nee confirmed Whittemore's Monday visit plans.
"Gainesville (Fla.) Buchholz 2028 quarterback Andrew Whittemore is due in, along with his mother. He is the son of the head coach of Buchholz. His brother, Creed, is currently a wide receiver at Utah. FSU was involved in Creed's recruitment as well. FSU has not yet offered Whittemore. He camped with the Seminoles this past summer," Nee wrote.
Wake Forest and Pittsburgh are the two early ACC contenders. But a FSU offer can certainly rearrange things.
Meanwhile, the class of 2027 RB Jackson is another stacking the offers. He's nearing 20 total and has multiple ACC suitors at his disposal.
"Sarasota (Fla.) Cardinal Mooney three-star running back Connail Jackson has not yet been offered by Florida State. This will mark his first visit to FSU," Nee said. "The 5-foot-10, 180-pound back has more than a dozen offers including the likes of Auburn, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Louisville, North Carolina, NC State, Pitt, UCF, Wake Forest, and more."
He presents some astonishing numbers too that speak to how he became national recruit.
"As a junior, he carried the ball 217 times for 2,452 yards (11.3 YPC) and 39 touchdowns in 15 games for Florida's 2A champions," Nee said. "He was named MVP (Most Valuable Player) of the state championship game after rushing for 199 yards and four touchdowns against Jacksonville (Fla.) Bolles."
So FSU could be in the mix for a state title winner if Norvell and the Noles extend an offer.
Out of all three visitors, the Atlanta talent Standifer from Athens Academy is the only one with an FSU offer via elevated offensive coordinator Tim Harris Jr.
"Monday will mark his first visit to campus. He is expected to be accompanied by multiple family members. He was previously committed to Georgia Tech while Auburn, FSU and Tennessee are a few significant contenders for him," Nee said. "Playing both wide receiver and defensive back this past season, he had 2,556 all-purpose yards, 31 total touchdowns, and seven interceptions."
Nee concludes seven visitors are expected for Monday's practice.
