The Seminoles' kicker also saw felony charges dropped and his team suspension lifted following his March arrest.
Florida State placekicker Conor McAneney appears to be on his way back to the football roster.
Charges for his March arrest were dropped during the weekend of April 18, according to Brendan Sonnone of Noles247Sports. Sonnone adds that the kicker's indefinite suspension has now been lifted.
Still, McAneney faces one misdemeanor charge.
"The previous felony case against Florida State kicker Conor McAneney is now a misdemeanor case in the Broward County Clerk of Courts, with two prior felony charges being reduced. McAneney, per a team spokesperson, has been reinstated and is back with the team after a previous suspension," Sonnone wrote.
The native of Ireland landed in jail following an altercation outside of a Fort Lauderdale bar. The incident took place following St. Patrick's Day and during the early morning hours after the March 17 holiday.
"The charges were battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting an officer with violence and trespassing per Broward County jail records -- the first two were the felony charges -- with the booking report stating that McAneney pulled down an arresting officer as the two nearly tumbled into a nearby street," Sonnone wrote.
"He was indefinitely suspended by FSU following the incident and is believed to have not participated in spring camp following the suspension on spring break," Sonnone adds.
The Broward County Sherriff Department revealed the details on what led to McAneney's arrest.
"The defendant began to grab onto the barrier gates to the business, so I grabbed him under his arms in attempt to make him release his grip,” an officer wrote in McAneney’s arrest report released publicly. “Once away from the bar, I let go of the defendant who then grabbed by arm/shirt and attempted to pull me down, placing me off balance, (and) nearly falling through the barrier into the roadway where traffic was flowing.”
The 6-foot-3 kicker played for Quincy University in Illinois before transferring to FSU. He booted the football in 11 games as both a PK and kickoff specialist for the 2025 season.
McAneney went on to hit 7-of-10 of his field goals. His longest became a 45-yarder. He went on to earn the Great Lakes Valley Conference Special Teams Player of the Week in the win over William Jewell.
With his suspension lifted, McAneney can participate in volunteer summer workouts while also joining the team for fall camp ahead of the 2026 season.
