Florida State looks to be courting another Florida Gator who's in the transfer portal, not just limited to DJ Lagway.
The dual-threat quarterback already was one high-profile visitor to Tallahassee. Now has chosen Baylor as his next CFB home. But running back teammate Treyaun Webb is on the portal radar in Tallahassee too.
Webb is on a visit to the FSU campus, Noles 247Sports learned Thursday morning. If he chooses FSU, he'll bring plenty of game experience to the backfield.
Webb played sparingly as a true freshman in 2023 -- racking up 163 yards with two rushing touchdowns.
The 217-pound back endured a truncated 2024 due to an injury. He managed to score one touchdown, but settled for 21 carries and 93 yards.
The Jacksonville native once was a prized four-star signing for former Gators head coach Billy Napier. He starred for Trinity Christian Academy and once drew rave reviews from Andrew Ivins of 247Sports.
"A methodical runner that can make people miss and shed tackles. Has contributed at the varsity level since he was in eighth grade for one of Florida’s top private school programs," Ivins wrote in his evaluation. "Does a nice job of using his initial burst to hit the hole hard and find green grass. Has enough wiggle to occasionally get out of trouble if a play breaks down as he has shown that he can sidestep defenders or spin away from them."
Ivins added that Webb delivered an advanced stiff arm for a high school prospect while also winning foot races on the field.
"Likely to emerge as a multi-year contributor at the Power 5 level and possibly an impact player on Saturdays if he keeps progressing and avoids injury," Ivins concluded.
Should he join FSU, Webb won't be the only high-profile backfield representative in Tallahassee.
Quintrevion Wisner chose Florida State after leaving Texas. Wisner brings versatility out of the backfield while also adding College Football Playoff experience in tow -- having played on the Longhorns' 2024 CFP team.
Lagway, meanwhile, left Tallahassee "on cloud nine" after talking with Mike Norvell and his coaching staff. The past Florida starter planned to visit Virginia after taking in FSU. But will head to Waco instead.
