Florida State sparked early portal buzz Saturday with DJ Lagway set to visit them during the weekend.
But the Florida dual-threat isn't the only high-profile Southeastern Conference QB who's visiting Tallahassee.
Pete Nakos and Chad Simmons of On3/Rivals revealed who else is heading to FSU on Saturday. With this talent expected to visit either during or after Lagway's visit.
"Auburn QB Ashton Daniels is visiting Baylor, then Florida State and Kentucky, he tells Chad Simmons and On3 Sports," Nakos posted on the social media website X, formerly known as Twitter.
Daniels to Tallahassee would become the second Atlantic Coast Conference stop for the towering QB. He originally suited up for Stanford including during the Cardinal's transition to the ACC in 2024 -- which ultimately became his last season in Palo Alto before entering the portal.
The native of Burford, Ga., ended up taking part in a two-QB system at Stanford alongside Justin Lamson. Daniels tallied 21 touchdown passes with 20 interceptions in his final two seasons at The Farm.
However, he entered the portal amid Stanford firing Troy Taylor before spring practices in 2025, as Taylor got accused of bullying a female staffer. Daniels landed at Auburn for what became Hugh Freeze's last season with the Tigers.
Daniels compiled just 797 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions at Auburn. He completed 57.1% of his throws. But he won't be a part of incoming head coach Alex Golesh's first Tigers team as he crosses over from South Florida. Multiple reports reveal Golesh is heavily targeting Byrum Brown -- his star dual-threat passer for the Bulls this past season.
The now former Auburn Tiger and Stanford Cardinal QB, meanwhile, is hearing from two more possible SEC suitors. Nakos added Missouri and Arkansas are also showing interest. The latter has a head coach in Ryan Silverfield who's joining Golesh in the SEC -- as Silverfield leaves Memphis for the Razorbacks.
Daniels joins a growing list of potential future QBs in Tallahassee. UNLV QB Anthony Colandrea is one candidate for FSU, though he's visiting Tennessee on Saturday per multiple reports. Old Dominion QB Colton Joseph is another the 'Noles are looking at, who was considered the top FSU target before the Lagway news.
Daniels is a senior but has one more year of eligibility left. In fact, Auburn helped him gain the extra year in sitting him down after his first four games -- fulfilling the NCAA redshirt rule.
