The Seminoles made a strong impression on one of the nation's tallest and most recruited defensive back's Jeremiah Proctor.

Florida State football moved up on the list of schools for one of the nation's tallest and fast-rising recruits for 2027.

Jeremiah Proctor visited the Tallahassee campus during Easter weekend and told Noles247 how impressed he became. The 6-foot-4 defensive back out of Gainesville, Fla., holds 31 offers and counting.

But FSU and watching the Seminoles defense practice certainly piqued his interest.

"I definitely loved the atmosphere here and getting to build a relationship with these coaches," Proctor said to Chris Nee. "I definitely can see myself coming here and definitely look at my options."

Proctor was "warm" on Kentucky and FSU's Atlantic Coast Conference rival Pittsburgh. But did the Seminoles catapult over both?

He now says that FSU is at the "top of my list right now."

Proctor, who stars at Gainesville High, adds his conversations with Seminole coaches persuaded him to move FSU up.

"The conversations we had, it definitely put them at the top of my list right now. I'm definitely looking forward to coming back here," Proctor said.

Head coach Mike Norvell isn't the only one at the forefront of Proctor's recruitment. Safeties coach Evan Cooper is leading the charge with winning over the towering DB.

"He definitely said that he could help me develop here," Proctor said. "He definitely invested his time and he definitely loved to see me come here for the first time and see me, meet face-to-face for the first time. So we've definitely got a great relationship going on."

Norvell did his part to really sell Proctor about the FSU vision.

"He was just really telling me about the atmosphere here and the culture that they have," Proctor said. "That they are all family here, so they all love each other."

Florida State would land the nation's No. 48 overall safety if Proctor ends up choosing the Noles. He does have a pair of June trips lined up for Pitt (June 11) and UK (June 19). He's also offered by Boston College, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Virginia Tech and Duke out of the ACC.

He would join four-star safety commit Mekhi Williams out of Lennard High in Ruskin, Fla., in the safety room if he chooses the Seminoles. Same with Jemari Foreman, who hails out of Cypress Bay High in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and is a three-star commit.
