Even though this recruit reopened his process, FSU is reportedly still pursuing this blue chip talent.

Florida State has kept its recruiting door open for one decommit.

Zach Blostein of Noles247 revealed that safety Jaylen Scott is still very much on the FSU radar -- even despite reopening his recruiting process.

But that's largely because Scott chose to leave a Southeastern Conference school he pledged to after decommitting from the 'Noles.

"Jaylen Scott is a former Florida State commit before he flipped to Auburn and later decommitted from the Tigers. His recruitment is now open again and he's still very much listening to the Seminoles. He visits Tallahassee on January 31,"  Blostein said.

Sounds like Mike Norvell, defensive coordinator Tony White and the rest of the defensive staff are still envisioning using Scott on defense. Especially when looking closely at the future of his position.

FSU picked up portal addition CJ Richard of Illinois State will have two seasons of eligibility by the time Scott heads to the collegiate level. Ma'Khi Jones also comes over but via Atlantic Coast Conference rival Duke. Yet the era of the transfer portal doesn't guarantee players will stay put.

Scott is the state of Alabama's No. 4 ranked prospect by 247Sports. The star from Williamson High in Mobile has reeled in 18 total scholarships with most hailing from the Power Conference realm. FSU and Auburn weren't the only ones pursuing him. Florida State legend Deion Sanders at Colorado offered him an early chance to play for the Buffaloes.

He exploded on the recruiting trail with tallying 107 tackles and breaking up 12 passes. Scott stands at 6-feet, 190-pounds and also snatched four interceptions his sophomore season.

He's not the only four-star FSU is eyeing...or even attempting to flip.

Texas A&M QB Jayce Johnson is one Florida State is actively pursuing. Johnson has been committed to the Aggies since Aug. 3.

Clemson target Jamarin Simmons is another four-star still being pursued by the 'Noles. Same with Cameron Pritchett -- who's currently committed to Oregon.

Florida State has one other safety commit in Mekhi Williams -- who tells Brandon Huffman of 247Sports that "Florida State had always been the school for me and I've always felt a connection with them."
