Florida State men's basketball head coach Luke Loucks raved about landing the brother dup Anthony and Amare Robinson.
Florida State men's basketball pulled off this rare feat in the transfer portal: Landing a pair of roundball siblings.
Both Anthony and Amare Robinson are expecting to ignite the Seminoles, plus draw a local following as Tallahassee natives.
Head coach Luke Loucks raved about the new additions after officially announcing his incoming portal class during the week of April 27.
The elder brother Robinson comes over via Missouri, where he played Southeastern Conference basketball for three season before leaving.
Loucks helped describe the former Tiger in the prototypical point guard fashion.
"Anthony is exactly what you look for in a point guard – tough, vocal, and someone who naturally commands respect," Loucks said via a school release. "He's grown a lot over his three years at Missouri, and bringing him back home to Tallahassee means a lot to our program."
Loucks immediately has high expectations for the now former Mizzou star.
"We expect him to step in right away and lead, not just on the court but in how we work, prepare, and represent Florida State every day," Loucks said.
He later dropped this big prediction for the veteran CBB PG before he gets acquainted with the Atlantic Coast Conference rigors.
"We believe that with Anthony's defensive intensity and offensive skill, he can be one of the most well-rounded and productive point guards in the ACC," Loucks said.
Loucks plucked Amare Robinson via the junior college realm, where he starred for Tallahassee State College. He raved about the potential the guard brings.
"Amare is a young player with a bright future because of how he approaches the game," Loucks said. "He's unselfish, he's coachable, and he understands what it means to be a great teammate."
Loucks already believes he scored big with securing two members of the same family tree via the offseason.
"The Robinson family is special, and we're excited to have them fully part of our program. Amare is going to develop the right way here and make a real impact over time," Loucks said.
Anthony Robinson comes in averaging 7.4 points per game in his three seasons at Mizzou. He also averaged 2.7 rebounds and 1.7 steals a night.
Amare Robinson played 30 games with four starts and guided a Panhandle Conference title at Tallahassee State. He also starred for Florida State University School at the prep level, earning three-straight Defensive Player of the Year awards.
