The Seminoles are aggressively searching for their next quarterback for 2027. New intel points to a possible flip by this summer.

Florida State football fans itching to see which 2027 quarterback chooses the Seminoles received big news during the weekend of March 13.

A Big 12 commit is looking like a potential flip to FSU.

The Noles have worked diligently to recruit Logan Flaherty, who's currently committed to Central Florida. Zach Blostein of Noles247 revealed that Flaherty and the Seminoles have reconnected in the past week.

But this time new FSU quarterbacks coach Austin Tucker is the one courting the three-star out o Port Charlotte, Fla. Flaherty speaks highly of the new QB leader plus fellow assistant Jesse Stone when talking to Blostein.

"I think it's a blessing to continue to meet new people and build new relationships. I think it's really important for me, relationships is a main point of everything," Flaherty began. "Meeting those guys and setting that base ground foundation for the relationship with coach Tucker and coach Stone is really important and I'm super excited to continue to build that and get to know these guys. Obviously me and coach [Mike] Norvell, [I've] been here since I was a freshman, so we have a good relationship."

Flaherty added how "awesome" it was to return to FSU for his trip which also hit home for his parents, as both graduated from Florida State.

But did he reveal that the Knights are starting to lose their grip on him amid Florida State's push?

"I love UCF. I love coach [Scott] Frost, coach [McKenzie] Milton, coach Coop [offensive coordinator Steve Cooper] -- all those guys down there. Obviously I love them and I'm committed there. That's my plan," Flaherty said.

However, he acknowledged: "I know how the game is and I've got to keep doors open, keep options open. I'm trying to find the best fit for me and make sure I'm doing the right thing. This is probably one of the biggest decisions of my life so I want to make sure I'm doing it the right way."

That will include taking additional visits for the future and not just limited to FSU. But Blostein delivered these nuggets that point to FSU trending upward.

"Sources around Flaherty's recruitment indicated that he and FSU are talking about the possibility of an official visit to Tallahassee in June. It sounds like the plan is also for FSU's coaching staff, likely Austin Tucker, to watch Flaherty throw during his spring football practices -- which will likely begin late next month," Blostein said. "FSU is working through its options at quarterback this spring, but Flaherty seems to be one to track through the rest of the spring and into the summer. We'll know interest is mutual and legitimate if an official visit gets locked in."
