Remaining Florida State Offensive Targets as Portal Window Enters Fourth Quarter cover image

We're five days away from the portal closing. Here's who remains out there based on intel and rumblings involving Florida State.

We're reaching the final stretch of the transfer portal.

Teams like Florida State need five more days to close out strong in the 2026 portal cycle. Although Jan. 20-24 is also reserved for players representing Indiana and Miami who chose to enter late (by virtue of playing for the national title on Jan. 19).

Florida State became proactive in loading up on past CFB veterans -- a past staple of Mike Norvell led team. He's already locked in names like Ashton Daniels, added past College Football Playoff defensive back Karson Hobbs of Notre Dame and, as of Saturday, added Illinois State safety CJ Richard.

But who's left out there FSU is still targeting? Or should target?

Based on rumblings and intel via industry sources, here's the remaining targets left on the Seminoles' recruiting radar.

Quarterback

Daniels again is in. But signs point to Norvell pivoting to the junior college ranks for his second QB.

Florida State already lost out on landing Anthony Colandrea (UNLV, now at Nebraska) and even old rival DJ Lagway (Florida, now at Baylor).

Tre Guerra of national JUCO power Tyler in Texas landed an offer from FSU. But South Carolina is also courting him according to Noles247.

Meanwhile, Iowa Western C.C. QB Malachi Marshall is visiting Tallahassee this weekend. Marshall earned All-American honors last season at the JUCO level.

Running Back

Quintrevion "Tre" Wisner is on board.

And it appears FSU is settling on only him, for the time being.

Hollywood Smothers was a target but has turned elsewhere (even decommitting from Alabama earlier Sunday).

FSU also has Amari Thomas via the 2026 class coming on board. There are rumblings of Caden Durham attempting to leave LSU, but learning Lane Kiffin and his incoming coaching staff is preventing that from happening. Doubtful Durham will entertain FSU amid LSU's re-courting of him.

Wide Receiver/Tight End

Florida State only landed one weapon here in the portal -- former East Carolina TE Desirrio Riles.

FSU has been quiet with hunting down WRs but for good reason.

The 'Noles landed six players through the '26 class for that position group. Four-star Jasen Lopez out of Hollywood, Fla., is the headliner. Devin Carter and Efrem White are two more four-stars expected to push for playing time right away.

Offensive Line

FSU boosted the trenches with a mix of non-P4 (Power Four) talents and a past Auburn teammate of Daniels.

Xavier Chaplin looks like the headliner here and will vie for left tackle in coming from the Tigers. But Troy transfer Paul Bowling boosts the interior.

Chimdia Nwaiwu (Stephen F. Austin), Nate Pabst (Bowling Green, and Bradyn Joiner (Purdue) comprise the rest of the OL class.

FSU looks finalized here in the trenches barring a sudden portal departure here.
