Wrianna Hudson nets a late goal as soccer battles Rice, while volleyball preps for an Auburn clash and golf sensations Shawn Coultoff and Sophia Fullbrook ignite strong starts.
The No. 15 Florida State soccer team concluded the non-conference portion of the 2026 season with a 1-1 draw against Rice on Sunday at the Seminole Soccer Complex.
Junior forward Wrianna Hudson scored the Seminoles’ (4-1-1) lone goal of the match in the 76th minute. It was Hudson’s second goal of the season, which tied her for second-most on the team. It was also the 26th goal of her three-year collegiate career.
The Owls (1-3-3) answered with the equalizer six minutes later to secure the draw. The Seminoles are 2-0-1 all-time against Rice and 1-0-1 at home.
The ACC slate begins on Friday, Sept. 11, as the Seminoles will host NC State at 7 p.m. ET in Tallahassee.
Volleyball
Florida State (3-2) begins a six-match homestand on Tuesday with a matchup against Auburn at 7 p.m. as part of the ACC-SEC Showdown at the Net. The Seminoles defeated No. 16 Kansas but fell to Lipscomb last weekend at the LUV Invitational in Nashville.
The Seminoles lead the all-time series against the Tigers 18-5, including a 10-1 mark at home. The Seminoles defeated the Tigers in four sets in their last meeting in 2025. Auburn is 3-2 after dropping its two most recent matches to No. 11 Minnesota and No. 5 Wisconsin.
Florida State will then host Louisiana (2-3) on Wednesday at 6 p.m. It will be the second meeting between the two programs. The Seminoles won the first meeting in straight sets at home in 2021.
The Seminoles are led by senior outside hitter Kyleene Filimaua, who has 91 points, 75 kills and 12 aces while ranking second on the team with 59 digs. She recorded a season-high 23 kills against the Jayhawks.
Women’s Golf
The Florida State women's golf team began the 2026-27 season shooting even-par 288 to tie for second after 18 holes at the Folds of Honor Collegiate on Monday. The Seminoles will be paired with Texas A&M and Kansas on Tuesday.
Preseason All-American Sophia Fullbrook led the Seminoles with a two-under 70 and finished the day in a tie for fourth on the individual leaderboard. Haruhi Nakatani finished with an even-par 72 and is tied for 12th entering the second round.
Men’s Golf
The start of the No. 20 Florida State men's golf season was highlighted by a pair of Seminole debuts at the Folds of Honor Collegiate. Shawn Coultoff led the Seminoles by shooting a 4-under, 67, finishing third place in the first round of his FSU debut in third place. Nils-Levi Bock shot 1-over, 72, and is tied for 28th place in his debut. Carson Brewer shot 4-over, 75, while Wilmer Edero was 7-over, 78 to round out the Seminole effort on Monday.
