Samuel Singleton Jr. makes program history following a dominant season opener, while Men’s Tennis reveals a fresh roster and Women’s Golf secures prestigious preseason All-America honors.
Florida State senior running back Samuel Singleton Jr. was named the ACC Receiver of the Week on Monday after playing a big role in leading the Seminoles to a 34-17 win over New Mexico State to open the season.
The fourth-year junior from from Charleston, South Carolina, accounting for 164 all-purpose yards on Saturday, 42 yards on the ground, 54 from the air and an additional 68 yards from kickoff returns. Singleton also scored two touchdowns during the Seminoles’ routing of the Aggies.
Singleton is the Seminoles’ first ever non-receiver to earn ACC Receiver of the Week. The award was established in 2012 and is open to any position on offense that catches a pass.
The Seminoles (1-0) remain home on Sept. 7 to host No. 19 SMU.
Men’s Tennis
The Florida State men’s tennis team recently released their fall schedule for the 2026-27 season. The Seminoles return five players and are led by the senior duo of Azariah Rusher and Justin Lyons who won the 2024 ACC Championship as sophomores.
The Seminoles added a trio of freshmen; Mikail Alimli, Seydina Andre and Benjamin Saltman. Florida State also added some of international transfers, including Yan Kodjoed (Barry) of France and Filip Aplteaur (Tennessee, TCU) of the Czech Republic.
Florida State will start the season at the ITA All-American Championships at Sept. 20-24 in Tulsa. The Seminoles return to their home state on Oct. 2-4 for the Bedford Cup in Orlando, before going to Atlanta for the ITA Regional Championships on Oct. 14-19.
The ITA South Sectional Championships will be hosted by Florida State on November 5-8. These events will allow players to qualify for the NCAA Individual Championships.
Women’s Golf
Florida State golfers Sophia Fullbrook and Louise Landgraf each earned preseason All-America recognition from the Golf Channel, as announced on Monday.
Fullbrook was selected to the Second Team while Landgraf received an honorable mention and a spot on the Preseason All-Freshman Team. The Seminoles enter the season ranked No. 8 nationally by the Golf Channel.
Fullbrook emerged last year with three individual victories, including the NCAA Tallahassee Regional, as well as seven top-10 finishes. She finished her sophomore campaign ranked No. 18 nationally after posting a 71.09 stroke average over 34 rounds with a team-high 23 rounds at or below par.
Landgraf joins the Seminoles after being ranked as high as No. 42 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking. She recently won the 2026 Irish Women's Open Stroke Play Championship and the Portuguese Ladies Amateur Championship in both 2025 and 2026.
The Florida State women’s golf team will open the 2026-27 season Sept. 7-9 at the Folds of Honor Collegiate at American Dunes Golf Club in Grand Haven, Michigan.
