The Georgia Bulldogs are trying to make some final class of 2027 moves.
The Georgia Bulldogs are very much in the thick of their season now two games in and ready to hit the road this upcoming week for the start of conference play.
While the focus from the fans may be on the season now, inside the building just as much attention is still being paid to the recruiting efforts. And even though those efforts have largely turned to 2028 with the class of 2027 just about wrapped up, it sounds like Kirby Smart is still trying to make a couple of final 2027 moves to shore things up before signing day.
It was a cold spring for Smart and the Bulldogs for the upcoming class and they missed out on a ton of guys they were going after. As it turns out however, they might just not be done quite yet.
According to some intel from UGA Sports On3 before the game against Western Kentucky, the Dawgs were hosting multiple players for 2027 that are committed to other schools that they are still trying to flip.
Georgia Still Pushing for Flip from Multiple Prospects Committed Elsewhere
UConn commit Preston Glasco out of Grayson High School in the state has been linked to the Bulldogs for some time now, and they were able to get him on campus with a number of other elite players both who are committed and uncommitted as well.
Beyond just Glasco though, another defensive back -- South Carolina product Michael Pembleton Jr. -- who is currently committed to Elon could be looking to make a move as well, and he was hosted on campus along with Glasco.
Outside of a late commitment from Seth Williams, Georgia was relatively thin in the defensive backfield for 2027, so it makes sense that Smart is still trying to land a couple of these guys before signing day.
Beyond that position though, Atlanta area native John Amofah Jr. -- who is currently committed to Cincinnati -- was also in attendance for the game and looks like another potential flip.
If the Bulldogs are able to land at least one if not multiple of these prospects prior to signing day, it could provide a huge last second boost to a class which is very much on the fringe of being top-10 in the nation.
Smart clearly values Glasco highly, and if he can get him as well as at least one more on board, it should secure at the very least a solid group by Georgia standards.
