The Georgia Bulldogs season got started on the right foot.
The Georgia Bulldogs have officially gotten their 2026 season started, and to the surprise of absolutely no one, it was a complete dismantling of Tennessee State to get the campaign off on the right foot.
A 63-3 victory that saw Georgia up 35-0 very early in just the second quarter allowed Kirby Smart to get reserves into the game a whole lot earlier than anyone thought could be the case. After the fifth touchdown of the day which was a Gunner Stockton pass to Elyiss Williams, Ryan Puglisi would enter the game at quarterback on the next drive.
The Dawgs played four quarterbacks with Puglisi entering the game along with Ryan Montgomery and Hezekiah Millender as well all getting to see action. Montgomery had one of the plays of the day with his long bomb touchdown to Jeremy Bell which was the first of each player's career.

Puglisi also threw a touchdown to true freshmen Kaiden Prothro, one of the stars of the offseason who was playing in his first game at Sanford Stadium and was able to get in on the action.
On the ground, Nate Frazier was able to find the end zone three times and was the leading rushing with 72 yards on just four carries including a long score to open up the game just over a minute in.
Ultimately, there is not a whole lot to take from a blowout like this, but Georgia did look about as strong as anyone could possibly hope for in just the first game of the season. Next week, it does not get much tougher with Western Kentucky on the docket, but these games are a great opportunity not only to get better, but also to develop the depth on the roster by getting young players valuable reps.
This was the case on Saturday, and Smart did not hesitate to get all of his quarterbacks in the game not to mention just about every position on the field.
In a 60-point victory, just about everyone was able to check into the game and get some snaps, which was a nice sight for the fans and families who braved the temperatures in Athens this afternoon.
Next week may be a little bit more of a challenge as the Bulldogs face a higher level opponent in the Hilltoppers before starting SEC play the following week on the road against Arkansas.
