The Georgia Bulldogs have had a nice first two weeks.
The Georgia Bulldogs got their second victory of the season on Saturday afternoon at home against Western Kentucky in what was a historic day at Sanford Stadium with a 70-20 victory.
For the first time in program history, the Bulldogs debuted a white out uniform concept and the fans participated in droves, bringing a very unique environment to Athens for a game day that otherwise did not have a ton of juice. While the Hilltoppers presented a little bit more of a test than Tennessee State, ultimately these non-conference cupcake games do not have much luster with SEC play looming afterwards.
Nonetheless, it's still interesting to take a look at the evaluations and see who produced as well as who didn't. For the Dawgs, one thing of note over the first two games especially on the offensive side of the ball is how everyone is playing a role.
After an offseason of questions on the wide receivers and who is going to be making plays on the offense, the stat sheet was so long with contributors Saturday it's almost difficult to follow.
12 Different Georgia Players Caught at Least One Pass
For the second straight week, Gunner Stockton spread the ball around in his limited action. Completing 13 of his 16 attempts for 234 yards and five touchdowns, 12 different players on the team caught at least one pass, and nobody caught more than two passes all day.
True freshman Craig Dandridge had two catches as did both Talyn Taylor and Chauncey Bowens, but beyond that trio, nine players caught one pass each to make up the passing attack for the afternoon.
While there may not quite be the level of star power on the offense the Bulldogs had at their peak under Kirby Smart and Todd Monken, it feels like there are as many players capable of making a play as ever.
So much has been made in this era of the sport how difficult it is to collect depth on a roster, but it's clear that Georgia has some incredible depth right now in the pass catching department.
Time will tell who ultimately emerges as the guy or group of guys, but the Bulldogs have a long list of names to pick from when it comes to who is going to be making plays this season.
Stockton and the offense should have a chance to be great if they can all get on the same page and certain players step up to seize a more permanent role when the games get closer.
