The Georgia Bulldogs will kick off early on Saturday.
The Georgia Bulldogs will take the field once again this afternoon for their second game of the season against the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers and try to get off on the right foot before SEC play begins.
In last week's opener versus Tennessee State, there was not much resistance from the FCS opponent and starters were out of the game early in the second quarter. While this certainly will not be a barn burner either barring something catastrophic for the Bulldogs, ultimately there will be evaluations made by fans.
Here are the three biggest things to watch for from the first game of the season to the second for Georgia.
How deep into the game do starters play this time around?
Things got out of hand quicker likely than the coaching staff would have liked last Saturday as Gunner Stockton was out of the game by the time it was 35-0 just moments into the second quarter. This is a time of year where chemistry is developed over the course of reps, especially in these games.
Western Kentucky will not be as easy as Tennessee State, so it will be interesting to see whether or not starters are playing into the second half in Sanford Stadium.
Can Jaden Reddell continue hype train from first game?
Though Reddell officially had just two catches against Tennessee State, he made the play of the day on a play that did not even count when he dodged six tacklers and turned on the jets for a touchdown which was wiped off the board due to penalty.
There may be no player fans are more looking forward to watching this week than Reddell, and seeing whether or not he can continue to be a significant piece of the first team offense is going to be absolutely fascinating. This is a guy Kirby Smart has heaped praise on, so count on him continuing to see the field.
Who steps up and records sacks for Georgia's defense?
Despite the 60-point win, the Bulldogs recorded only three sacks last week and would love to do some more damage to opposing quarterbacks when games are this lopsided. Much was made of the edge rusher group going into the season, and while it will be a work in progress, Georgia needs to get pressure by rushing just four this year.
Development from week one to week two would be huge here, and it would be great to see some more in terms of pass rush this week.
