The Georgia Bulldogs could be ready to see a breakout for this pass catcher

The Georgia Bulldogs are now under a month from kicking off the regular season, and anticipation from the fanbase is as high as it's ever been.

With fall camp in full swing and the team getting on the field to see who is going to seize a key role before games start, reports from practices are read with urgency this time of year as the coaching staff evaluates the roster. Georgia is always going to have one of the better rosters in the sport, and this year's group is no different.

Depth at some position groups is better than others though, and the Bulldogs tight end room is one of the deepest in the nation. While Lawson Luckie is the alpha of the group, another tight end is getting a ton of hype as of late, and apparently he just had a massive day at practice.

According to some intel from UGASports.com, redshirt sophomore Jaden Reddell had a huge afternoon and was catching everything thrown his way.

Intel from practice revealed Reddell did not just impress members of the media who were watching, he also showed out in front of his head coach and might have made an impression on Kirby Smart that he's ready for a bigger role when it comes to catching the ball.

After redshirting his sophomore season in 2024, Reddell appeared in all 14 games this past season, but his job was more in the areas of blocking and special teams than actually running routes and catching the ball. Based on the last two years, it's easy to forget now, but he was brought in out of high school with a very impressive set of hands and the ability to go up and get the ball.

Rated as a top-five tight end and top-100 player overall in the class of 2024, Reddell was seen as a future key piece of this passing game, and by the way things are going in camp, it seems 2026 may be the year where that really begins.

At the end of the day, there's a ton of mouths to feed in this tight end room, but if Reddell has really made the leaps folks seem to think he has, he will have to have an increased role in the offense this season. Should these kinds of reports keep coming, folks are going to get extremely excited about his prospects headed into the year and the hype train seems to just be getting started.
