The Georgia Bulldogs have some talented playmakers on the outside.
The Georgia Bulldogs are trying to tune some things up this week with a chance to make final improvements on the bye before the stretch run which could present some major challenges.
Things are never going to be easy in this conference, and that was proven last week with a shocking loss at home to the Auburn Tigers for the time in more than two decades. With that being said, the Dawgs were coming off a physical and emotional victory against the Alabama Crimson Tide and Auburn was coming off the bye. With some time to rest and refresh, there's no reason to think Georgia won't be just fine.
A huge reason for that is a wide receiver group which while doubted heavily going into the season has stepped up in a big way. In particular, it's been youngsters Talyn Taylor and Craig Dandridge who have really stepped up and led the way, something the Dawgs desperately needed.
Taylor and Dandridge Have Been Answers to Georgia WR Concerns
There was always hope Taylor was going to be able to take the next step as a sophomore and former highly-rated recruit, but you never know if it's actually going to happen or not. As for Dandridge, he has been the best surprise on this team as a true freshman, the leading receiver on the team up to this point.
With 17 receptions for 310 yards and a touchdown, Dandridge has been a huge bonus to a group that needed someone unexpected to emerge.
Taylor has 19 catches for 283 yards and three touchdowns on the season, showing flashes of being a potential future superstar as he has the size and speed to be the biggest playmaker on this team.
While both Taylor and Dandridge of course have a ways to go in terms of development, them taking the lead for this group has quieted the concerns that the Bulldogs did not have enough on the outside in order to make a deep run.
Both guys have made big time plays in big moments, and that is exactly what Georgia needed and will need for the rest of the season. With everything still ahead of the Bulldogs the rest of the way, this dynamic duo emerging in Athens is a massive development for the ceiling of this team.
Kirby Smart encouraged folks to keep on doubting this group in the offseason, but with the way they have played as of late, it's going to be tough to continue doing that.
