The Georgia Bulldogs could do some interesting things on offense.
The Georgia Bulldogs were able to start their SEC schedule on the right note with a 45-17 victory over the Arkansas Razorbacks for the third straight blowout victory to begin the 2026 season.
For the third straight week, the team on the other sideline did not match up with the Bulldogs, and it being the conference opener did not reverse that trend. Once again, Gunner Stockton was out of the game before the end with his team up big, and Arkansas ultimately was not able to hold up its end of the bargain.
While the takeaway of course is another lopsided win and the Dawgs looking as strong as one could possibly hope in the early portion of the season, there are some evaluations to be taken away as well. While Stockton did not have an extremely gaudy numbers day through the air, it was what he did with his legs which could be the most significant development for this team moving forward.
Finishing as the leading rusher on the team, Stockton showed an element he has not done yet in two years as the starter.
Stockton Designed Run Was Spectacular for Georgia
For what felt like the first time in his career, the Bulldogs coaching staff used Stockton's legs on a straight designed run to get him into space where he was able to show off his legs and run away from the entire defense. Getting all the way inside the 10-yard line, Stockton showed off speed folks may have not been aware he had.
After taking a little bit of a significant hit, perhaps you may not be seeing this regularly for the Dawgs quarterback, however it does add a fascinating different element to the Georgia offense.
Forcing opposing defenses to respect the ability from the quarterback not just to tuck it and run when things break down but also from the very start of the play would change the way units are able to defend the Bulldogs.
In all likelihood, Georgia will have to put evidence more on tape that they are actually willing to run designed options for Stockton in order to change the way defenses approach things. With that being said though, it's just another tool in the chest for Mike Bobo and the offensive staff.
Stockton is willing to do whatever it takes to win including putting his own body on the line, and this is just the latest example.
