The Georgia Bulldogs need big years from these three players.
The Georgia Bulldogs are headed into the 2026 season with the goal of not only getting back to the SEC Championship and College Football Playoff, but making a much deeper postseason run than they have the last three years.
It's a goal that should very much be attainable with the roster that Kirby Smart has in Athens, but like any other year, some groups are going to be stronger than other. Throughout this offseason, no unit has heard more criticism than the wide receivers with the fans fearing the possibility that the inexperienced group is going to cap the potential of this offense.
While the fear is warranted based on a lack of guys who have proven they can get it done, there is still immense potential for the passing attack to be great. If these three players can take the next step in their development, the sky could be the limit.
Gunner Stockton
Perhaps this goes without saying, but the advantage of having Stockton come back for a second full season as a starter is something that has not been discussed enough this offseason. While he does lose some of his top playmakers from last season, Stockton being able to raise his personal level of play would soften the blow tremendously.
Now fully a veteran quarterback and the undisputed leader of this team, perhaps that is exactly what he can do and have a year that is not only good enough, but elevates him into the conversation of best quarterbacks in all of college football.
London Humphreys
Humphreys did not have a huge 2025 by any means, but he is probably the guy with the most experience in the offense coming back and now should be on the field for the bulk of the snaps. In his two years at Georgia, he has had 520 yards and five touchdowns, and the Bulldogs will need more than that pace out of him in 2026.
Perhaps the most key weapon in this offense now, Humphreys is going to need to have a big year.
Sacovie White-Helton
White-Helton is the most likely name to step into arguably the most important role in this wide receiver room: the gap left behind by Zachariah Branch in the slot. He's the most electrifying player in the room and while he has to put it all together, White-Helton should be ready to elevate his level of play and be a huge piece of this offense.
After eight receptions in 2025, now is the time for him to become a key player in his third year of the program. Whether or not he can could go a long way towards defining the ceiling of the offense.
