3 things to know about Washington

1. Welcome back, Bryson Tucker

Washington sophomore forward Bryson Tucker spent his freshman year at Indiana, and transferred last spring after his coach, Mike Woodson, was let go.

He played well in the Huskies' first three games, but sprained an ankle in the Baylor game and missed five weeks. During his first three games, the sophomore swingman from Bowie, Md. averaged 9.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. He shot 46.2 percent from the field, and 41.7 on three-point shots.

He's seen limited action since then, averaging 13.5 minutes per game. He's struggled in the last three, shooting just 1-for-11 from the floor and missing all six threes.

Tucker was a big recruit for Woodson, but his freshman campaign was disappointing. He played in 23 games and never got a start. He roles was severely diminished late in the year and barely played. He averaged 5.4 points and 2.9 rebounds a game. Tucker shot just 37.8 percent and was just 3-for-20 from three-point range. He didn't play at all in Indiana's last six games.

"I came in as a McDonald's All-American and I wanted to come in and impact the program as much as I could," Tucker told reporters earlier this season. "In the program, I just wasn't used. That's kind of how that went. There wasn't much to speak on."

Indiana fans supported Tucker through his struggled, and railed against Woodson often on social media for not playing Tucker. It's likely that he will get a warm reception on Sunday when he returns to Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.

"I'm sure he has some anxiety, but he's a competitor," Washington coach Danny Sprinkle said of Tucker. "I'm sure he's ready to get back to Indiana. I have a feeling he's going to play really well."

2. Dealing with lots of injuries

Tucker's ankle injury is just a small part of Washington's injury story this year. They haven't played a single game with their entire roster.

Junior forward Mady Traore will miss the entire season with a foot injury, senior forward Jacob Ognacevic isn't expected to return until January and players such as Hannes Steinbach, Desmond Claude, and Lathan Sommerville have all been out with respective injuries.

Sophomore guard Wesley Yates III will also miss an undisclosed period of time after undergoing wrist surgery.

Indiana fans might remember Claude, who played at USC last year. He scored 15 points in a loss to Indiana in Bloomington. He played at Xavier his first two years, and played against Indiana as a freshman as well.

Claude averaged 15.8 points per game last year, and he's played in nine games so far this season, averaging 14.8 points per game. He's scored 21 points or more three times in the past five games. He missed the start of the season with an ankle injury.

3. Huskies by the numbers

* Washington is ranked No. 49 in the Kenpom.com team rankings. That ranks No. 12 out of 18 Big Ten teams.  Indiana is No. 29.

* The Huskies are just 1-4 all-time against Indiana. Washington won the first-ever meeting in 1966, but Indiana has won the last four. The Hoosiers won in 1978 in the lone meeting at Assembly Hall. IU won last year 78-62 on March 1 in Seattle. Malik Reneau led Indiana with 22 points.

* Washington had made some nice comebacks this season but nothing takes the cake like their win at No. 24 USC. The Huskies were down by 18 points at halftime, but Washington overcame its largest halftime deficit in recorded history, defeating the Trojans 84-76 in Los Angeles» The win snapped an 11-game losing streak to USC.
