After last week's loss to Iowa in the Cy‑Hawk rivalry game, Jimmy Rogers and the Iowa State Cyclones look to make big improvements this week as they face off against the Bowling Green Falcons, led by former NFL star and second-year head coach Eddie George.

My Thoughts
Both Iowa State and Bowling Green will be looking for a much-needed win this week after slow starts to the season, and this game could significantly shape each team's outlook for the season.
Although Bowling Green has had a tough 0-2 start, the team has some real sneaky talent on both sides of the ball that can threaten the Cyclones if they do not take it seriously and choose to “play with their food”.
On offense, we have a real chance to see a potential matchup nightmare in tight end Jeremiah Scoby, who has 12 catches and 121 yards this season. His size, athleticism, and versatility could threaten this secondary if Iowa State doesn't know who to put on him.
On defense, there is safety Kal-El Pascal; the Falcons safety earned preseason All-MAC honors in 2026. His range could hinder the Cyclones' passing game, while his tackling could also make him effective against the run.
At the end of the day, I still believe this Iowa State team still holds the edge in every major phase of the game against Bowling Green. From physicality in the trenches to discipline on both sides of the ball, the Cyclones simply present more consistency and higher‑level execution. Their defensive front is stronger, their offense even with their issues in the passing game is more established, and their depth on the line will allow them sustain pressure for four quarters.
I also believe that after the passing attack's sluggish start to the season, this will be a great chance to get offensive coordinator Tyler Roehl and quarterback Jaylen Raynor on the same page and build consistency in the passing game, in hopes that it carries through the rest of the season.
Although I think Bowling Green has some talent on their roster, I think Iowa State runs away with this game.
