Kansas State Wildcats Extend Offer To JUCO Defensive Lineman

Kansas State Wildcats football coach Collin Klein is in the middle of his first season.

While he is focused on the current team, he is also trying to build for the future. Klein recently extended a scholarship offer to defensive lineman Jekai Lee of Butler County Community College.

While he isn't rated by most recruiting services, the Wildcats like his size and potential. Lee is 6-foot-6 and 280 pounds. He also has offers from Florida International, Georgia State, Southern Mississippi and University of Texas-San Antonio.

This is likely a case of the Wildcats trying to get in on the ground floor before other teams join the recruitment.

Here are the other recent players the program has offered:

Kansas State extended another offer to a tight end prospect, this time three-star Brady Reeves. He currently attends Hill-Murray High School in Maplewood, MN. Reeves also received offers from Vanderbilt, Iowa State, and Miami (OH). He's ranked right outside the top 20 at his position on 247Sports. Last season, Reeves had 25 receptions for 327 yards and nine touchdowns.

The program offered tight end Sloan Blackwell on Tuesday night. He currently attends Waco Midway High School in Waco, TX. Blackwell also received offers from Arizona, Syracuse, and Arizona State. Last season, he had 18 receptions for 254 yards and two touchdowns, per MaxPreps.

The latest offensive lineman to be offered in the class was Jerry Richmond. He currently attends East St. Louis High School in East St. Louis, IL. Richmond has also received offers from Florida Atlantic, North Carolina, and South Dakota.

Kansas State offered offensive tackle Asher Megonnell on Friday. He currently attends Ankeny Centennial High School in Ankeny, IA. He also received an offer from Big 12 rival Iowa State. Megonnell is currently unranked.
