The Kansas State Wildcats mascot, Willie The Wildcat, now has a bobblehead doll

There is a new celebrity on the Kansas State Wildcats campus.

While football coach Collin Klein and quarterback Avery Johnson are probably the most popular faces, they are getting some competition from the mascot. Willie The Wildcat is the big man on campus these after going viral for doing 394 push-ups during Kansas State's 71-3 victory Nicholls last week at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.

Since becoming an Internet sensation, the mascot has gained plenty of attention. The latest honor was the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum giving the mascot its own bobblehead.

The Wildcats put Willie The Wildcat in this position after putting up the second-highest scoring game in school history. It was arguably the most impressive victory from the first full weekend of college football.

The Wildcats amassed 559 yards and scored a whopping 10 touchdowns, including one two-point conversion. Johnson threw three touchdowns and ran for another. Six different players scored rushing touchdowns. Receiver Brandon White added to the tally with a punt return for a score.

The mascot became an instant sensation the moment video surfaced of the final push-ups being done. It quickly spread throughout social media. The question now is will he have to do it again?

The Wildcats return to action Saturday at home against the Washington State Cougars. It's doubtful Kansas State puts up that many points against the Cougars, who lost to the rival Washington Huskies in their season opener.

The impressive opener has drawn the attention of plenty of fans. The Wildcats were predicted to finish eighth in the Big 12 by the conference media and we were unranked in the preseason polls.

A win against the Cougars could be some momentum before beginning league play. After facing the Tulane Green Wave Sept. 19, they open the Big 12 schedule the following week against the Cincinnati Bearcats on the road.
