Former New Orleans Saints defensive lineman Zxavian Harris committed to the LSU Tigers on Monday afternoon.

The LSU Tigers have fully embraced the recent influx of Class of 2022 players, now adding a commitment from ex-Ole Miss Rebels and New Orleans Saints defensive lineman Zxavian Harris.

Harris signed with the Saints as a priority undrafted free agent right after the draft, but was waived earlier in August. Now, given that he was a part of the recent group of athletes who were granted a TRO by a Louisiana court, he will be allowed to return to college and transfer.

Kiffin stated earlier on Monday that the Tigers would continue recruiting these players, and that he did. The case for these players to get another year is that they were in the middle of the COVID class receiving an extra year, and the new eligibility format is giving others a fifth year.

Harris is now the second player who signed with an NFL team to commit to LSU in the last 24 hours. Dae'Quan Wright committed to the Tigers on Sunday night after being waived by the Cleveland Browns.

Whether it is right or wrong, LSU just gained a commitment from a defensive lineman that many thought would end up getting drafted into the NFL or at least sticking on a roster. He is a very talented player when he buys in. The main reason that he didn't get drafted is off-field and effort concerns.

Just last season, though, Harris was very good for the Rebels. He's a massive player up the middle at 6-foot-8, 330 pounds. There is value in him just being on the field. On top of that, he added 123 tackles, 17.5 TFLs and three sacks over four seasons for Ole Miss.

The Tigers already had one of the best defensive lines in the entire country; now they add another elite talent.

Interestingly, Harris was one of the Rebels stars who spoke out against Kiffin going to LSU in the first place. Now following him to Baton Rouge, Harris shared the news on his Instagram story (H/T Andre Champagne) with the comment: "Business decision."
