LSU Tigers Spring camp begins Tuesday. Which position battles will be the most intriguiging to follow?

The LSU Tigers open up their spring camp on Tuesday afternoon as preparations continue for the first season in the Lane Kiffin era.

Kiffin had a very busy first few weeks on the job, putting together his roster for the Baton Rouge debut. The Tigers invested a ton of money in the team, and it has resulted in many talented players.

There are a few positions that are pretty much set in stone — Sam Leavitt at quarterback, Trey'Dez Green at tight end and Jordan Seaton at left tackle, to name a few. Some positions are less set in stone.

The battle for starting positions has already begun behind the scenes, but that will only intensify as Spring camp opens up on Tuesday. Here are the most interesting places to watch:

Wide Receivers

LSU completely overhauled the room out wide. Phillip Wright is the only returning player, and he had just one catch as a freshman. The fight for playing time will be wide open.

The four favorites heading into camp will be Jayce Brown, Tre Wilson, Jackson Harris and Winston Watkins. Talent and different specialities fill out the rest of the room. They have a trio of exciting freshmen, the speedy Wright and big play machine Tre Brown III, just to name a few.

Defensive Tackle

This may be the most stacked position on the roster. Dominick McKinley is a returning starter and former five-star talent, so his spot is likely solidified. Next to him will be former Clemson Tigers starter Stephiylan Green, but the high-profile freshman class will not go down without a fight.

Lamar Brown could start at like three different positions right now, given that he would have been a five-star on either the offensive or defensive line. Richard Anderson has the size to start right away and has reportedly been hard at work getting into great shape this offseason. Even Deuce Geralds is talented enough to put up a fight. There is also the group of transfers who feel less likely, but can always surprise.

EDGE Opposite Of Princewill Umanmielen

Umanmielen was among the highest-profile additions to the team this offseason. His not starting would be nothing short of a disaster. All expectations are that he will start and likely be the most productive player that the Tigers have had there in a while. On the other side, though, there are a handful of players who will compete.

Gabriel Reliford has been highly touted since coming to campus, but has yet to actually produce. He suffered a torn rotator cuff early in the year that limited him to just four games played. Jordan Ross is in a similar boat as a former top-10 player in the nation, but hasn't had as major an injury keeping him from producing. Those are likely the top two competitors, but there are some others as well who could stand out.
