Memphis officially announced Charles Huff as the program’s 26th head coach Monday morning, and Huff has already started assembling his coaching staff.

Various outlets reported that Huff is bringing defensive coordinator Jason Semore, running backs coach Telly Lockette, defensive backs coach Dominique Bowman, chief of staff Sharrod Everett and general manager Reed Grable. All five coaches were on staff at Southern Miss last season, and it’s unclear if more coaches will follow from that staff.

Semore will follow Huff from Hattiesburg to Memphis after making the same move the year prior, following the head coach from Marshall. Semore has spent the last three seasons as an FBS defensive coordinator, but he served in the same role at other levels, with stops at Valdosta State, Montana, Colorado School of Mines and Adams State.

Semore also spent time as a defensive analyst at Georgia Tech, Temple and Oklahoma State. The Golden Eagles' defense allowed 27.4 points per game and 402.3 yards per game this season.
