All 14 players are on campus for Memphis basketball

Memphis basketball kicked off summer workouts on Tuesday, and Penny Hardaway said on Monday that he anticipated all 14 players to be on campus by the end of the week. He noted that Jayden Reid was the only player who hadn’t made it to campus yet.

The Tigers posted pictures from practice on Thursday, and one showed Reid on the court. This means all 14 players signed for next year’s team are on campus.

Hardaway has talked a lot about how much it benefits the team to have everyone on campus as early as possible, and it appears he will take advantage of that this season.

Ahead of summer workouts starting, there was uncertainty surrounding incoming freshman Fred Smith Jr., who had yet to sign with the program, but Memphis announced the signing of all three high school recruits on Tuesday.

With 14 players signed for next season, it will be interesting to see if Hardaway elects to use the final roster spot before the season starts. The head coach has said that he would like to keep that spot in his back pocket, but that could change over the next few months.
