Following the 31-7 Gasparilla Bowl loss on Friday, the Charles Huff era is officially underway. With the coaching change, it’s expected that many players will enter the transfer portal, and five players have announced their intentions following the bowl loss.

It was reported yesterday that no coaches from this year’s staff will be retained next season, which could cause more turnover. Just because a player enters the portal does’t mean they can’t return to Memphis, and with a new coach, it gives them an opportunity to evaluate all options.

With Antwann Hill Jr. entering the portal, all three quarterbacks who saw time this season are either out of eligibility or in the portal. On the other side of the ball, three defensive starters are set to enter the portal, including three of the team’s top five tacklers.

Here are the latest Tigers to enter the portal:

AJ Hill

Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett reported Sunday afternoon that Antwann Hill Jr. plans to enter the portal with four years of eligibility remaining. Hill became the highest-rated quarterback in program history to sign with Memphis, and he picked the Tigers over Florida, Colorado and Alabama.

Hill only appeared in two games this season, including the bowl game against NC State. On Friday, he went 6-for-7 for 48 yards late in the game.

Against UAB, Hill entered the game in the second half after starter Brendon Lewis went down with an injury. He went 13-for-25 for 175 yards, a touchdown and an interception against the Blazers, and he gave the Tigers an opportunity to win the game, but they couldn’t punch it in on the goal line.

Kamari Wilson

Kamari Wilson was one of the biggest additions from the transfer portal a year ago, but according to Fawcett, he’s set to enter the portal again.

Wilson was a four-star prospect out of high school and signed with Florida out of high school. After two seasons, he transferred to Arizona State, but following a year in Tempe, he entered the portal again and landed with the Tigers.

Wilson ended the year with 84 total tackles, which ranked second on the team, and he recorded two interceptions and forced two fumbles.

Chris Bracy

Chris Bracy was another great addition to the team from last year’s transfer portal, but he’s set to enter the portal again. The sophomore still has two years of eligibility left and felt like a key player to keep for next season.

After two seasons at UAB, Bracy finished the season with 81 total tackles, a forced fumble and an interception. The safety recorded seven or more tackles in six of the last seven games of the year.

Everett Roussaw Jr.

Junior linebacker Everett Roussaw Jr. is the third big defensive piece to enter the portal over the weekend. Roussaw finished fifth on the team in total tackles, and he ended the season with 64 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, an interception and two forced fumbles.

Like Bracy, Roussaw spent the last two years at UAB before making the move to Memphis ahead of this season. The junior’s best game came against East Carolina, where he finished with 11 tackles, a sack and a forced fumble.

The linebacker has extensive experience at the collegiate level and has one season of eligibility remaining.

Matt Adcock

It was reported on Saturday that tight end Matt Adcock plans to enter the portal. The junior spent two seasons at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College before joining the Tigers ahead of the 2025 season.

Adcock started his career on the defensive side of the ball, but he recorded four receptions during his sophomore year. At Memphis, he was primarily a tight end, and he finished with 70 yards and three touchdowns on 12 receptions.

Adcock appeared in 9 games, and he found the end zone in back-to-back games to end the year.
