The start of the college football season is less than 100 days away, and on Wednesday, Memphis announced start times for eight games, including all four non-conference matchups.
Charles Huff will make his Tiger coaching debut in Las Vegas for a week zero matchup against UNLV. The game is set for 9 p.m. central time, and it will be broadcast on FOX. There are some that have UNLV and Memphis as two of the top teams to make the College Football Playoffs, so the week zero matchup could have massive implications on postseason play.
After the week zero matchup, the Tigers return to Memphis for their home opener against Arkansas State. That game is scheduled for 6 p.m. on ESPN+, and it will be the first opportunity for most fans to see the team in person.
The very next week, Memphis will head west again to play Boise State on September 12. That game is scheduled for 5 p.m. CT, which will be 4 p.m. in Boise, and that game will be broadcast on USA Network.
The revamped Pac-12 announced a five-year partnership with USA Network to broadcast regular-season action for football, men’s and women’s basketball and the men’s conference basketball tournament.
This will be another important non-conference game for Huff’s team. The Broncos are picked by most to win the Pac-12, and several outlets predict they could be a boarderline top 25 team.
Memphis will wrap up its non-conference slate on Sept. 19 against UT Martin, and that game is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT on ESPN+.
In conference play, the Tigers now have times for games against Tulane, East Carolina, South Florida and Navy. Three of those games are on the road, while the contest against ECU will be at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium.
The Tigers will play the Green Wave on Oct. 16, a Friday night, and it’s scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on ESPN. Memphis has lost three of its last four games against Tulane, but both teams enter the season with new coaching staffs.
The following Thursday, the Tigers will host ECU at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN2. Memphis has lost three straight against the Pirates, including back-to-back overtime games in 2021 and 2022.
The final two game times announcers are both for road games against USF and Navy. The Tigers will play the Bulls on Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. on either ESPN or ESPN2, and they will play the Midshipmen at 11 a.m. on Nov.21.
A network has not been set set for the game against Navy.
