Memphis hosting several players this weekend

This weekend, Memphis will host three players for official visits. All three players are being recruited as offensive players, and it’s one of the first weekends where the Tigers will host multiple recruits.

Memphis picked up its first 2027 commitment in late May with quarterback Ethan Tisdale, and they’ll look to add more commitments over the next few weeks. The Tigers hosted multiple players last week for the Memphis Mega Camp, and that kicked off what should be a busy next two months on the recruiting side of things.

Charles Huff and his staff will bring in two offensive linemen and a wide receiver this weekend. Here’s a look at who will be on campus this weekend for the Tigers.

IOL Bryson Sanderson

Sanderson is a three-star recruit out of Oxford, Alabama, and he holds 18 offers. The offensive lineman visited several schools in the spring, but this will be his first official visit of the summer.

Sanderson is the No. 30 interior offensive lineman, according to 247Sports, and he’d be a nice piece to add to the recruiting class. At 6-foot-5 and 285 pounds, Sanderson has a nice frame, and the Tigers could develop him to become a key piece of the offensive line in the future.

After visiting Memphis, the offensive lineman will head to Arkansas State for an official visit on June 18.

WR MJ Knight

Knight is a receiver out of Savannah, Georgia, who isn’t ranked by 247Sports or Rivals. The receiver picked up an offer from the Tigers in March, and he will be on campus this weekend.

It appears he took a visit to Georgia Southern earlier this month, but it looks like those are the only two official visits that he scheduled.

Knight recorded 780 yards and 14 touchdowns on 46 receptions as a junior for Calvary Day School, and he helped lead the school to a 12-2 record.

OT Jonathan Toney

Toney is an offensive tackle out of Dublin, Georgia, and he holds19 offers. Like Knight, Toney isn’t ranked by 247Sports or Rivals, and he has scheduled three visits this summer.

The offensive lineman spent last week at Appalachian State for an official visit, and he will head to Tallahassee for a visit with Florida State the week after visiting the Tigers. Toney has received a lot of interest from Kansas State, and it will be interesting to see if he sets up an official visit in Manhattan.
