Memphis continues to build its 2026 roster through the transfer portal, and after announcing three signees Tuesday morning, it was reported that the Tigers have signed a former four-star quarterback recruit and a starting offensive lineman from the portal. 247Sports reported that Colorado State right tackle Aaron Karas has signed with Memphis, while Pete Nakos reported that South Carolina quarterback Air Noland has also signed with the program.
Karas spent the last four seasons at Colorado State and started all 25 games over the last two seasons. After signing with the Rams as a three-star recruit, Karas redshirted his first year before appearing in 11 games as a redshirt freshman.
Over the last two years, Karas logged 1,657 snaps and allowed 10 sacks, including zero sacks allowed in 2024. During that season, Karas was part of an offensive line that finished fourth in the country by allowing only 10 sacks.
At 6-foot-5 and 315 pounds, Memphis continues to add size on the offensive line with the addition of the Colorado State transfer, and it will be interesting to see which quarterback he’s protecting in the first game of the season.
The Tigers announced Tuesday afternoon that they’ve signed another quarterback with the addition of Noland. The former four-star recruit becomes the third quarterback to sign with Memphis out of the transfer portal after Marcus Stokes and Denzel Gardner were announced earlier in the cycle.
Noland signed with Ohio State out of high school but redshirted before transferring to South Carolina. In his redshirt freshman season with the Gamecocks, the Georgia native only appeared in one game, completing two passes for 13 yards in a 51-7 victory over Coastal Carolina.
The Tigers now have two former four-star quarterbacks in their quarterbacks room, and it should lead to a fun QB battle through spring and into the fall.
With the two new signees, Memphis has now announced 36 signings on social media, including five on Tuesday.
