2027 Memphis linebackers offers part 1

Memphis’ coaching staff has turned its attention to recruiting the class of 2027, and it’s time to look at all of the players with offers from the Tigers. After looking at all of the offense and defensive line, it’s time to take a look at the linebackers.

More than 30 linebackers in the class of 2027 have received an offer from Memphis, but only 17 of them are still uncommitted or have received an offer from Charles Huff and his new staff with the Tigers.

Devontray Brewer (Tupelo, MS)

The previous staff offered Brewer in January 2025, but Huff’s staff at Southern Miss offered him a few months later. It’s likely that the new staff is still recruiting the linebacker.

Brewer is a three-star and the No. 46 linebacker in the class of 2027, and he holds 17 offers. He currently has only one official visit currently scheduled with Mississippi State, and it will be interesting to see if the Tigers can land a visit from the linebacker who stands 6-foot-1 and weights 225 pounds.

Brewer recorded 120 tackles, 4.5 sacks and 10 tackles for loss during his junior season.

Ethan Hauser (Buford, GA)

Hauser is a three-star recruit and the No. 54 recruit at his position. He holds 38 offers, and he has three official visits set with Vanderbilt, Missouri and Michigan. The Tigers offered him on January 25, but it looks like he’s getting a ton of Power Four attention.

Hauser had 48 tackles and two tackles for loss in 13 games last season, according to MaxPreps.

Kyle Horde (Opelousas, LA)

Memphis offered Horde in early May, and he holds 10 FBS offers, including two offers from Power Four teams. Houston and Oklahoma State both offered him, and Eric Morris continued to recruit him after recruiting him at North Texas.

The three-star recruit has visits scheduled with Houston and Tulane, and it will be interesting to see if the Tigers can bring him in for an official visit. According to MaxPreps, Horde recorded 96 tackles last season in 10 games.

Roman Jennings (Brentwood, TN)

Jennings is a three-star recruit and the No. 72 linebacker in the 2027 class. The linebacker plays at Brentwood Academy, and he holds 11 offers.

Jennings has two visits scheduled for early June, with Liberty and Wake Forest, but he was on Memphis’ campus in early April for an unofficial visit during spring practice.

Trace Washington (Woodstock, GA)

Memphis offered Washington in January, and he has 18 offers, according to 247Sports. The linebacker is a three-star recruit and the No. 77 player at his position.

Washington recorded 51 tackles, two tackles for a loss and a sack for Woodstock last season. The linebacker hasn’t scheduled any official visits, but several Power Four programs are showing interest in bringing the linebacker on campus.
