
With summer right around the corner, Memphis is setting up official visits with players in the class of 2027. Charles Huff and his staff have been busy hitting the recruiting trail since taking over in January, and they have already hosted a handful of players on unofficial visits throughout spring practice.
After looking at the quarterbacks, running backs and wide receivers, it’s time to take a look at the tight ends that Memphis is targeting in the 2027 class. Here are 13 tight ends that the Tigers have offered.
Parker Newman (Sevierville, TN)
Memphis offered Newman on Jan. 27, and he’s received 17 Power Four offers since then. Newman is a three-star recruit and the No. 14 tight end in the country.
He recorded 1,059 yards and 10 touchdowns on 78 receptions, and he was named a 2025 Mr. Football nominee and Region 1-5A athlete of the year.
Parker Keenan (Clarksville, TN)
Keenan is a three-star recruit, according to Rivals, and the Tigers offered him on Jan. 31. The tight end recorded 404 yards and four touchdowns on 24 receptions last season, and he has a lot of potential to be a big weapon at 6-foot-6 and 235 pounds.
Nate Roberts (Normal, IL)
Roberts isn’t currently ranked by Rivals or 247Sports, but he has picked up several offers from teams in the American. Memphis offered him in April, and he currently holds 12 Division-I offers, according to his social media.
Joey Hunter (Loganville, GA)
Hunter has 24 offers, according to 247Sports, and Memphis offered him in late January. The three-star recruit took five unofficial visits during the spring and was in Memphis on April 17.
He has three official visits set up for the summer, according to 247Sports, and it’s unclear if he will take an official with the Tigers.
Jack Evitts (Dunlap, TN)
Evitts isn’t ranked on either recruiting site, but he holds eight offers, including a P4 offer from Florida. The Tigers offered him in late January, and the tight end took an unofficial visit to Memphis on April 15.
Colton Johnson (Baxter, TN)
Memphis offered Johnson in January, and he currently holds 54 offers. The tight end has picked up a ton of Power Four offers in recent weeks, and he has official visits currently set with Ole Miss and Florida State.
In 2025, he recorded 615 yards and six touchdowns on 36 receptions, and he recorded 150+ tackles on the other side of the ball.
DeShaun Thomas (Merritt Island, FL)
Thomas was offered by Memphis in early February, and he currently holds 24 offers. The tight end has recorded 1,248 yards and 10 touchdowns over the last three seasons, including 570 yards and five touchdowns as a junior last season.
He has official visits set with Pitt, Wisconsin, Georgia Tech and Florida State, and it will be interesting to see whether the Tigers can lock down an official visit.
Carter Blackwell (Leesburg, GA)
Blackwell is a three-star recruit out of Georgia with 24 offers, and he has official visits set with Clemson, Florida State, Duke and UCF. The tight end recorded 438 yards and five touchdowns as a junior, and the Tigers offered him in late February.
Landon Bogany (Lewisville, TX)
Bogany received an offer from Memphis from the previous staff, but he already held an offer from Southern Miss when the Tigers offered him. It’s unclear if Huff is still recruiting him at Memphis.
In nine games last season, he recorded 220 yards and five touchdowns.
Mason Hall (Watkinsville, GA)
Memphis offered Hall in February, and he holds 28 offers. The tight end has visits set with NC State, Pitt, Virginia and Duke.
He has recorded 1,545 yards and 12 touchdowns in three seasons, including 625 yards and five touchdowns last year.
Joshua Pettigrew (Warner Robins, GA)
Pettigrew is a three-star recruit, according to Rivals, and the Tigers offered him in March. He has spent time this spring at LSU, Florida State and Duke, and he has official visits set with Alabama and Florida State.
Drew Follett (Orlando, FL)
Memphis offered Follett in February, and he was on campus for an unofficial visit in April. The tight end recorded 306 yards and two touchdowns last season, and he will take an official visit with the Tigers on June 19-21.
Chase Phifer (Ponte Verde Beach, FL)
Phifer picked up an offer from Memphis in March, and he currently holds 16 offers. The tight end recorded 500 yards and seven touchdowns on 32 receptions as a junior.
