Corneilous Williams will visit Memphis on Wednesday as the Tigers look to add frontcourt pieces ahead of the 2026-27 season. Williams played the last two seasons at North Alabama and entered the portal for the third time in his career after averaging 12.2 points and 9.3 rebounds for the Lions.
Williams started his career at LSU, but after redshirting during his true freshman season, he entered the transfer portal and landed at Western Carolina. The forward averaged e.5 points and three rebounds in 29 games off the bench and entered the portal again, landing at North Alabama.
Williams found his footing with the Lions, and he became a crucial part of their team immediately. Despite his team struggling last season, Williams started all 29 games he appeared in and will look for a new school for his senior season with 64 starts under his belt.
Shooting
Williams is more of a traditional forward, and most of his shots are taken around the rim. The 6-foot-9 forward shot 63.5 percent from the field during the 2024-25 season, but that percentage dropped to 55.1 percent on more attempts last season.
74 percent of his shots are at the rim, and he scored 1.23 points per possession last season on shots off rebounds. Williams is also a threat as a roller on pick and rolls and as a lop option out of the dunker spot.
At 6-foot-9, 215 pounds, Williams is aggressive in the paint, and he’s not afraid to back down smaller forwards to get a better shot.
Playmaking
As a forward, Williams isn’t a massive threat as a traditional playmaker, but he did improve his assists from 0.4 assists per game to 0.8 assists per game last season. While he doesn’t average many assists, the forward impacts the offense even when the ball isn’t in his hands.
He was often used in pick-and-rolls at North Alabama, and he does a nice job finding open space in the defense to create scoring opportunities.
Williams also rarely turns the ball over. He averaged 1.3 turnovers per game last season, but he has averaged only 0.9 turnovers over the last three years.
Rebounding
Rebounding might be Williams’ greatest strength. The Beaumont, MS native has averaged more than nine rebounds per game over the last two seasons, and he’s a massive threat on the offensive glass.
Williams averaged 3.7 offensive rebounds per game, ranking No. 12 in the country. He also ranked No. 20 in rebounding average last season.
Williams does a great job grabbing offensive rebounds and turning them into second-chance points, and he recorded 23 double-doubles over the last two seasons at North Alabama.
Defense
Williams averaged only 0.8 blocks and 0.4 steals per game last season, but he showed an ability to defend without fouling. The forward averaged 2.4 fouls per game, and he has only fouled out of three games throughout his collegiate career.
Williams has a negative DRAPM, but some of that is due to being on a team that ranked No. 338 in adjusted defensive efficiency last year.
