Memphis has many former players who are playing professionally around the globe, with several in the NBA. While most people keep tabs on the former Tigers playing in the NBA, this offseason we’re looking at former players still playing overseas.

Kendric Davis didn’t start his collegiate career at Memphis, but he played his final season with the Tigers. The point guard quickly became a fan favorite and helped lead the Tigers to a conference title and an NCAA Tournament appearance.

Davis started his career at TCU but transferred to SMU following his freshman season. The point guard spent three years with the Mustangs but decided to transfer in conference after his junior year.

Davis started all 34 games he appeared in and averaged 21.9 points, 5.4 assists, 3.7 rebounds and two steals per game. The point guard scored a season-high 42 points in a double-overtime loss against UCF, and he led the team with 31 points in the conference championship game against Houston.

After the season, he joined Osos de Manatí in Puerto Rico. He played nine games and averaged 23.4 points, 4.7 assists and 2.2 rebounds in 32.8 minutes per game.

On Thursday, it was reported that Davis has resigned with the Sydney Kings on a two-year deal. According to reports, the new deal makes Davis the highest-paid import in the league.

While he spent only one season with the Tigers, it appears Memphis made a huge impact on the point guard, and he made a post on X recently about his time with the Tigers.

“Sometimes I sit back and wonder what if I did 2+ years in Memphis still blessed to be able to say GTG4L,” Davis said on X.
