With the offseason in full swing, it’s time to look back at some of the former Tigers who are still playing professional basketball and see what they’ve been up to since leaving the University of Memphis. Kyvon Davenport played for the Tigers for two seasons, including Penny Hardaway’s first year, and averaged 13.1 points and 6.9 rebounds as a senior.

Before transferring to Memphis, Davenport played at Georgia Highlands, a JUCO in Rome, Georgia. During his sophomore season, he averaged 16.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game and was ranked No. 19 on JUCOrecruiting.com's Top-100.

The forward signed with the Tigers in the class of 2017 and was one of five JUCO players signed in that class by Tubby Smith. During his first season, Davenport averaged 13.3 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game, leading the team in rebounds and blocks.

During his final season, he improved his rebounding but went from starting every game to starting only 23 contests and averaging 26.3 minutes per game.

Davenport’s best game as a Tiger came in a home loss against No. 3 Tennessee. The senior recorded 31 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, two blocks and shot 70 percent from the field against the Volunteers.

After his senior year at Memphis, Davenport was signed to a one-year deal with Hapoel Eilat of the Israeli Premier League, and he averaged 13.3 points and 6.8 rebounds in 20 games. Following his lone season in Israel, the forward signed with Cholet Basket, which plays in the premier league in France, but he appeared in only seven games before signing with a Ukrainian team.

Davenport averaged 14 points, 8.4 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 25 games for Budivelnyk Kyiv of the Ukraine Super League. Davenport returned to France for the 2021-22 season, and he averaged 8.7 points and five rebounds for Orléans in the same French league.

In 2026, Davenport is currently playing for South China in the Basketball Champions League Asia. He has appeared in six games this season, and he’s averaging 20.2 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 2.5 steals and 1.2 blocked shots in 35.3 minutes per game.

In his most recent game on May 5, he recorded 27 points, 14 rebounds, five assists, three blocked shots, two steals and shot 4-for-8 from deep in 38 minutes.

Davenport leads the team in points and blocks per game, and he is tied for second in rebounds. It appears South China’s next game is on May 19, and the full games can be found on FIBA Basketball’s YouTube.
